Did I mention felt is fun to work with? Every bit of scrap can be used for making interesting designs on or around the hat!
 
Next steps for making the hat above:

5. Place the dome back on the head form. Take another piece of felt or faux fur and pin it around the edge of the shaped felt dome and cut to size.
6. Hand-stitch the brim of the hat to the top of the hat.
 

 
For this ladie’s hat, my brim was a little too short to go all the way around the dome top, so I sewed another piece of felt to close up the gap and then added a felt flower to disguise the patch. Felt really is forgiving!
