Did you know you don’t need a bike chain gadget or a vice or a saw or a metal file to take apart a bicycle chain? This video says it better than I can say it in words. Watch it. Try it. It’s easy. It’s fast. And if you don’t have an aul, you can probably use a big nail (like a deck nail) instead of an aul.
DISCLAIMER: These instructions should be used when you’re using a bike chain for something other than a bicycle. Such as for a bracelet or an art project. As my brother-in-law pointed out, if you take a chain apart my way, you won’t be able to use it on a bike again.
Just letting you know.
